Slope and Angles in Drafting
By: Saul and Juan
Juan: "This is DJ Qwan"
Saul: "And this is Saul"
Juan: "And in today's show we are going to talk about how geometry can be used in our classroom and in real world situations".
Saul: "In our classrooms we use Revit and Autocadd, which involve geometry".
Juan: "But also we use geometry in real world problems dealing with architecture".
Saul: "One geometry branch that we use is Slopes and Angles".
Juan: "The slope of a line is the ratio of rise to run".
Saul: "An angle is formed by two rays with a common endpoint".
Juan: "We use slope and angles to build roofs and stairs. An important factor when finding slopes is rise and run.
Saul: "Rise is basically how much you go up and run is how much you go left or right.
Juan: "Most of the time the slope of the stairs can be speciefied in degrees or as a ratio of the rise to run or riser to tread. The slope of the stairs should be around 30 or 35 degrees.
Saul: "Also when building the roof of a house we use angles to determine the seat cuts and the roofs pitch".
Juan: "So this is it for today's show, I'm DJ Qwan".
Saul: "And I'm Saul, Goodbye!!".
Juan: "Peace"
PHILBROOK MUSEUM:
Friday 18th, our class went to a field trip over to Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was the Philbrook Museum and it had some of the best Art in the World!!!
My favorite part was the southwestern art about the indians.
I also liked when we went around the city of Tulsa looking at really cool buildings.

This week we finished the "Building With Awareness" video and wrote a summary in our Wiki. Also we are finishing our Tutorials from Revit.
We are also gonna take a trip to Tulsa and view some of Frank L. Wright.

Revit makes everything easier. This week we learn the basics of revit such as walls, types of roofs, and other things that make the building of a house much easier. Also we watched a video that showed us how to build with awareness and some standard ways to build.
Revit:
This semester our class will be learning the basics of Revit. We will do many projects in 3D. There are many differences between AutoCadd and Revit, in my opinion AutoCadd is a little harder because it has more commands.
